At last … a proper post!

I thought I’d start writing some decent entries now, so ignore those below.
You can find out why this blog exists by clicking on the About Me link above, so I won’t go into that now. Needless to say I’m getting quite excited about moving to the other side of the world. Yes, it will be a shame to leave the family and good friends but this is going to be an adventure. Not quite in the same league as Indiana Jones but sufficiently daring for me.
I’m waiting for a formal job offer at the moment as the provisional one came in last week. Then it’s paperwork and red-tape to look forward to. I’ve already asked the GMC for a “letter of good standing”, which basically says I’m not Harold Shipman. Then I’ll send a letter confirming my work here so I can be registered with the Aussie Medical Council. And that’s just the start – visas, immigration status, health insurance, establishing a permanent address are all to come.
This is just the start ….
