Just like buses

Nothing for ages and then they all come at once. These cliches often have a fair amount of truth in them, and this one did for me. I had a job offer drought for about 5 months. Everything I applied for knocked me back, and I wasn’t even shortlisted for interview. Then as soon as the first offer came in from Aus, more appeared. Another offer in Adelaide, an interview in Liverpool and the offer of my old job (as a junior anaesthetist) back in Leicester.
It all happened too late. My mind is made up and the grass seems far greener in Australia (even though in reality most of the year the grass in Adelaide is a sun-baked yellow – see what I mean below). The NHS is practically in meltdown, and the career structure in chaos. This is a good time to get out and wait for the whole thing to settle down.
