Reassuring but boring

It’s nice to know in this day and age of Big Brother that you can still be anonymous. As part of the visa requirements for entering Australia, immigrants have to prove they are “of good character”. The simplest way is to get a police check which goes beyond the usual CRB checks. Under the Data Protection Act all UK citizens are entitled to see what information the police hold about them on the Police National Computer. Fortunately mine came back as “no records found”. As I’ve said above rather boring but very reassuring. One less obstacle to obtaining the visa.
My leg is still playing up over a month after the original injury. This is very irritating as the Shepshed 7 is in two days time and I don’t think I’m up to it. Advice has generally been to give this a miss. There is little point in only making part of the distance, pulling up in agony and being off my feet for a long time. It’s not a foregone conclusion but we’ll have to see how it feels on Sunday.
