Apologies in advance

Warning: This is going to be a gym-ocentric posting, so if you’re not a gymhead you might want to catch the next installment.
Yesterday I went into Fitness First and did Pump. Unfortuately I have nothing to report again as the instructor did, and get this, 43! It was such an old release that it was on tape, not CD! I didn’t die as badly as on Tues as I was better hydrated and prepared. One thing that has surprised me a little is how quickly you dehydrate here. I’ve been drinking upwards of 3 litres of water a day and am still feeling thirsty.
*** BLOWING OWN TRUMPET ALERT *** The people at Fitness First were skanking badly on the weights. I did my usual weights (as shown on this page) and was surprised by how little weight was being lifted round me. Most of the blokes were doing only a red and a blue on squats and a blue and a yellow on biceps. I was expecting all the Aussie he-men to be making my efforts look pathetic so was somewhat shocked.
I’ve found a gym to go to that is a little closer to where we’ll be living called KP Fitness.
It’s not in the same league as Fitness First and is quite basic actually but they seem friendly enough and do all the BTS classes Regan and I want. Their cardio equipment is more downmarket than the high quality LifeFitness stuff I’m used to but is functional enough. Fortunately they have Concept 2 rowers, so I did the 10,000m challenge today. My time on the sprints wasn’t that fast, but I did the 4000m slog in 16 min dead.
Thanks for the pump updates! I’m glad Sam and Amin are working you hard in my absence, as I worry that lots of slacking is going on and the rowing challenge has fallen by the wayside. I’ll let you know what Pump is like at the other gym and what weights they do. Just remember: “You need more weight!“.

O my god i’am slacking…..its Saturday and it’s the second week i’ve missed Amin’s pump come back Rick. Glad to hear your not mark
Did Pump this morning and it was pretty empty . . . Amin and I have noted the skivers and will name and shame! Mark F has already owned up except according to Amin it’s not 2 weeks it’s 3 he’s missed!
Slacking is not the word Mark, actually it’s the 3rd week running Rick that Mark has failed his Saturday mornings doze of BP, today there was only me and Regan to pump up the volume, she was rather disgusted to say the least. I am sure she will report back to you with her thoughts. Maybe i don’t have the same package as Sam, i sometimes wonder what i could seriously be lacking, hmm i wonder!
Anyway Rick it’s very painful to see you in pain, meaning that you are stuck with pump 56 and 43s, hopefully this new club might bring you some good luck, keep us posted and make some friends ASAP. Whilst you’re enjoying the hot climate we are walking around in thermals. Take care until the next post
Au Revoire SLICK BROTHER RICK
