We’ve got it!

Success! The verdict is in and we’ve been accepted as tenants for a house. Following Amin and Rich’s advice I made an offer on the “house with the balcony” – seen here. Obviously the owners thought we were a good enough investment (no comments along the lines of “the poor deluded fools” please). At the moment I have a gentleman’s agreement with the agent. Then I have to go in next Thursday to sign the paperwork and a week from today it’s ours.
Once I’ve got may hands on the keys I’ll take a shedload of photos of the interior and post them on here for your assessment. I think you’ll all be quite impressed as it is really very nice inside and out. We got it at a bit of a bargain rate as it had previously been advertised at a higher price. Unsurprisingly there were no takers, so rather than leave it empty the owners slashed their expectations in order to fill it. Hopefully Regan will be happy with my choice as I have had to make an executive decision without her, though I will be very surprised if she is disappointed.
Back to the gym again. Today we went even further back in time and did BodyPump 31! Do any of you remember back that far? I certainly didn’t recognise any of the tracks even from retro Pump classes at LFE. There have been a few blokes at the classes this week so I haven’t felt so self-concious. One guy lifted almost as much as Rich on the squats, but went and ruined it by dropping almost half his weight for chest. It’s quite hard doing Pump when it’s really hot. I struggled badly today despite being reasonably well hydrated. I think electrolyte depletion is a significant factor, due to excess sweat loss. I’ll have to look out for some of that drink that Mark F swills down every class.
So all in all I’m feeling upbeat at the moment. Work is going well, the car is being delivered next week and I’ve found somewhere for us to live. I’m off out tonight with Regan’s cousin Larry (real name Simon – it’s too complicated so don’t ask!) for a few beers. Nothing too extravagant, but it will be nice to have a social life and relax now the house-hunting pressure is off.

Wow, look at that gaff – what a nice looking place, I can’t imagine Regan wil be anything other than delighted if it is as nice on the inside.
Yes we have been shivering under a light dusting of snow here. All gone now but the legacy of pants wether remains, oh for some of those 42 degrees you’ve been enjoying.
So glad to hear everything seems to be going smoothly for you. Have you got a spare bedroom (or two) for our visit?
Loz xXx
Wow! I remember the photo, so golad you got it. I’m a little green but pleased for you both, and I’m sure Regan will like it. They obviously accepted the cats, which was important as well.
Now all that remains to is make it out there for a visit…: )
Thanks for your comments on the blog, am slowly building up more traffic to it, so glad you are keeping up yours too.

Nice 1 Rick, you made the right choice, as they say in Australia IT’S AWESOME and regan will be over the moon.
Once you move in can we have a guided tour with pretty pictures, i think you’ve earned more then a few beers so go and get hammered, have a few on us mate. Am i right in saying you’ll be drinking castlemaine XXXX
Take care brother
I think “She who must be obeyed” will be happy with it. Photos of the interior will follow but I don’t get the keys till next Fri.
Much though you may all hate the miserable British winters, the heat here is oppressive. 42 degrees sounds great but isn’t tolerable for more than a few minutes at a time. Fortunately it’s not like this all the time.
You can’t actually get Fosters or XXXX here, unless you want your head kicked in. The beer of choice in Adelaide is the locally produced Cooper’s Pale Ale.
Hi Ric you made a good choice i think with the house i dont think reagan will be dissapointed in your choice.I think you’ve done quite well sorting it all out.I cant remember either doing pump that way back good to hear that someone else is going heavy in the class i feel for you because when its hot i even struggle bigtime.Hope you had a good nite fri hear from you soon.
Hi Rick,
Congrats at finding some diggs (along way from Uni Halls and Green Hill road!), looks mighty impressive (very americansque, is there a pool?), Gayle was also impressed! I believe the moggies should be in the land of oz aswell soon?
Anyway take care of yourself and look fwd to pinging over to you at some point in the not to distant future
