It’s not just Rimmer who has aspirations for advancement.
This is not confirmed, but it looks like I will be getting a promotion in August. At the moment I am a “Registrar” and on the advanced training programme, whereas next month I may gain the title “Senior Registrar”. I’m not getting too excited just yet, as on a day-to-day basis it will make very little difference to my job. However from an experience standpoint it will be useful as I will have more responsibility and may occasionally have to be the Acting-Consultant on-call. Also it will look very good on my CV as future employers will recognise the ability to take on advanced duties.
I will update you if this becomes a reality but it must mean I am doing something right at work if my superiors are willing to consider me for a step-up like this.
