The Flying Circus

But not Monty Python’s – rather that of the Cirque du Soleil.
I missed this unusual circus troupe when they last toured the UK, so since acts of this reputation are unlikely to come through Adelaide often, we decided to go along. For anyone who isn’t familiar with Cirque du Soleil, then they are unlike any other big top show you will ever see. They wear outlandish clothing that is just on the right side of loud, and provide a seamless performance of acrobatics, dance, trapeze work, comedy and contortionism. All of the traditional themes are retained, like clowns and jugglers, but they are morphed into a riot of movement, music and colour, all presented on a stage suited more to theatre than light entertainment.
More pictures are here. Unfortunately I can’t provide any photos of the show itself as they requested no photography to minimise distractions to the performers. We both enjoyed the night enormously and, despite not being cheap, it was definitely not-to-be-missed. The tour is called Varekai and is coming back to the UK early next year. I would recommend it for anyone who hasn’t seen them before. You will not be disappointed!

Hay Ric Good pics not been to a circus before but can only imagine would be very entertaining and one thing that stuck out was the union jack flag.
