In a campaign entitled “Every Detail Helps” the government are encouraging the Australian citizenry to snoop on and inform on one another. It is frighteningly reminiscent of the Orwellian nightmare portrayed in 1984.

In another act of hysteria there is even a “Threat Warning” gauge on their website as a facsimile of the one fronted by the NeoCon’s Homeland Security agency since 9/11. Not to be outdone, Gordon has one too.
To complete the farce there is a hotline so you can shop your neighbours on the flimsiest of premises. You can view the whole advert here.
All of this is deeply suspicious since there is an election due later this year. In a desperate act Howard is hoping that Australia will trust him to “keep Australia safe”. However he is still feeling the fallout from the Haneef debacle, so anything he says can be safely taken with a pinch of salt, or entirely ignored.

I think 1984 was meant to be a vision of the future, as opposed to a bloody manual.
It’s time people started realising -if they haven’t already, that this is not the way it has to be. Personally speaking the biggest risks are papers like the Daily Mail, with it’s propaganda that is similar to Julius Streicher in the Third Reich.
Blair has gone, thank God Bush cannot be in the White House more than sixteen months -let’s hope Howard doesn’t get back in either.
Hi Ric Well i dont think that we will have much privacy much longer since 911
