The new challenge

Thg gym we go to here has its own squash courts and membership entitles us to off-peak play. The aim is to get 3 games (scoring to 11) in the hour. No matter how effortless the pros make it look, I can assure you that squash is an extremely cardio-intensive sport. I’ve only played 5 times now, so am on a steep learning curve. A great deal of the technique is anticipation, namely where the ball will be rather than where it is right now. This actually means you have many opportunities to hit the ball if it comes off the wall before hitting the floor. I’m still pretty hopeless but getting better all the time.
Today it was pretty hot in the gym so after an hour of running on top of an hour of Pump I was ready to drop. Hopefully this should get me back up to the desired level of fitness so when we come over next year I won’t struggle too much on our return to LFE.
