Let’s Dance
Posted on Sunday 9th December 2007
Last night was more in the style of Hi-Tack’s cover than Bowie’s original as we “had it large” at Enchanted Forest 2007.
This is an annual dance all-nighter, traditionally held in an outdoor venue. Being reminiscent of the raves of the 80s the location isn’t revealed until that day and only spread through SMS and email rather than appearing in press or on the radio. The style is also very minimalist with punters simply dancing in an open field with security fencing unnecessary due to the remoteness. Also in the spirit of those great underground raves it was truly sunset to sunrise – not really getting going till 8pm and running all the way through till about 6am this morning.

An unusual feature was that it was a dry event. This was a smart move because it meant no drunk idiots starting fights, they didn’t have to have an age limit and they saved money on not having a licence. I’m sure the police were in favour too as we didn’t see any violence, and I’m sure their patrols were more to deter the drug dealers than ruin anyone’s night. In fact most people were very friendly and apologised if they bumped into you. It was helped by my wearing a Flashwear E-shirt that reacted to the music, as it attracted quite a few compliments.
I tried to take a few photos of the night, but most of them didn’t come out very well because I was using my phone’s camera for fear of losing our good digital one.

The rest are here. You can see what the night would have been like by seeing other people’s videos of previous years on Youtube.
All in all we had a good night, reliving our youth, but by sunrise I was tired, sweaty and dirty so it was time to go – till next year perhaps!

Yes the photo’s came out okay must of been an eventful nite plenty of booze
