Getting there

More progress on the visa front. The South Australian Police service has responded and, as expected, I have no records whatsoever. While not a definite confirmation of good standing it is accepted by the immigration department as a reasonable yardstick of character.
The results of my health check have come through. Unfortunately the envelope bears the words “DO NOT OPEN” in large red letters so I have no idea as to the outcome. It can’t be all bad as they have an obligation to notify people if anything untoward, like Hepatitis or HIV status, flags up.
So having the nomination letter, health check and police check means I can now submit my visa application. I’m sure the immigration department will come down with a case of Christmas-itis and it won’t be touched until after the new year. However being here means I can lodge my application in person and it will be processed locally. In any case I have till the beginning of April due to the liberal grace period allowed, so there shouldn’t be any problems. Fingers crossed!

GOOD LUCK RIC
