Three quick items

- Finally the paperwork mountain is no more. I have lodged my visa application now all the relevant paperwork has arrived. The whole process is a little simpler now I’m in the country as it is assumed that it is easier to keep people already here than let in those from outside. It probably won’t come through until well after the new year but there is still a month of breathing space which should be sufficient.
- Another finally. The editor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care was happy with our amended review article and it has been accepted for publication. The paper is scheduled to appear in April’s edition. When I get the proof I will post it here and you can offer your comments and criticisms
- Some provisional news on our trip back home to see you all. I have asked for the whole of September off next year. It remains to be seen as to whether I get all four weeks, but I thought there was no harm in asking. Once this is approved we will be looking for some help with accommodation. We plan to spend time in Guildford, London, Leicester and Edinburgh. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with as many people as possible, so try to keep September clear in your diaries and we’ll see you then.

Hi Rick!
Seasons greetings and congratulations on the visa and article successes thus far! When you come to London next year we must meet up!
Warm regards
Mansoor
Hi Rick,
Thanks for the card!
Hope you will have a lovely and relaxing Christmas and New Year’s.
I’m happy for you that things are going well, you must be thrilled to have all the Visa stuff over and done with.
Regards to Reggie and Mick and Vicky.

Hope to see you in September then! Have just got a new job that should start in the new Year (got signed off for another four weeks a little while ago and decided it was time to start looking elsewhere so am off to a school that I worked in during my teacher-training year; the only time I have ever been head-hunted!)
Will send Xmas card asap (haven’t given even the missis one yet!)
Love to Regan, Ed
Thats good that youve got your visa stuff all sorted finally
