Happy Anniversary
Posted on Monday 28th January 2008
This is just going to be a quickie to say I’ve arrived in Melbourne
Today is special, as it marks the first anniversary of my arrival in Australia. I arrived with much apprehension about whether I would fit in, make friends and stay in employment. A year later we are about to move into another house (admittedly not ours, but patience is the key, I’m due to start another contract next week and we have laid down roots. I wasn’t too sure what the future held in store and given my job woes in England, half-expected to be returning right now with poor prospects.
Instead Australia has been good to us. We’ve met some friendly and interesting people, my career seems to be heading in the direction I’d always hoped for and Regan seems happy to be home with the sun again. As the cliche says: “Tempus fugit”, and this year certainly has flown by. Hopefully that is a good sign that we have enjoyed it (all except the 40+ degree days).
In many ways we still miss many facets of our life back home, but have no regrets about taking this leap into the unknown. As mentioned earlier, a trip back to the UK is confirmed for September. It will be good to catch up with all of you and then anticipate another posting like this one early next year.

Blimey time does go by would be nice to see you both in september i think you have made the rite choice
