Putting down new roots
Posted on Monday 25th February 2008
Apologies for the downtime, but this blog is back in business again. On the 19th Feb we took possession of the keys to our new residence. We’re still renting but the new house immediately feels more like “home” than the old place ever did. It reminds me of the terrace in Hawkesbury Road we occupied, as this is also a two-up, two-down house.
We’re still feeling a bit disorientated as most of our possessions are still in boxes and we’re yet to make another trip to IKEA. You may remember me grumbling about the hideous curtains in the Brown Street house that forced us to buy beige furniture. Fortunately the new place is a blank canvas, colour-wise, so we will be adding many touches to make our mark. In the interim it looks like this:
Hopefully we will have fully settled in by the time my family arrive next month. I will put up more pictures once it is more presentable.
