This is my House

This is where I live. Credit to Sir Elton this time.
We have finally settled into our new house, and many IKEA trips later, have added our personal touches. You may remember that my main grumble with the previous house was that it was a sea of beige and grey. It was depressingly dull and we never managed to add enough colour to make up for the dreary decor. We were also limited by those hideous chinzty curtains – click here to be reminded how bad they were.
On acquiring our new home we were determined not to repeat the mistake. Visitors to Owen Close may remember our red sitting-room. I always liked that room as it was warm and welcoming on a cold winter day. Obviously we aren’t allowed to paint the walls but have done the next best thing. Here are some pictures to make my point:
What doesn’t show up is the rug and sofa cushions are also red, in various shades. We’ve also put Regan’s poinsettia in as the leaves blend in with the general theme. We’re still to put artwork up, but our landlord will be coming round soon to put up proper hanging hooks, and then we will be complete.
They say “Home is where the heart is” and ours definitely feel more at home here.

Glad you feel you’ve found somewhere that’s more homely! Hoping to have done more work on ours by the time you get back here!
