And then there were four

The past week seems to have raced past, so it felt rather premature when we saw my sister off at Adelaide Airport for her return home. It was great to have spent time with her after so long.
While she was here we did as many archetypal “Aussie” things as possible. This included a trip to Clelland Wildlife Park to interact with indigineous animals. No visit would be complete without getting to stroke a kangaroo and feed the koalas.
Then it was on to one of the Adelaide Hills wineries for a tasting session. We went to one of our favourite vineyards, the Hahndorf Hill Winery, as they make one of the best rosés we have ever tried.
Then on Sunday both respective families met up at the pub for the first time. It all went well and everyone got on well. Despite an assumption of differences, our families have much in common so conversation flowed as easily as the wine! As an aside it was a particularly good day as the Swans trounced Port, which would explain my absence from the table from time to time.
My parents have gone down to Sellicks Beach to spend some time with Regan’s aunt. While we’ve enjoyed having them stay with us, it has been a little cramped having five people in a house designed for three. They will be back on Wednesday after a couple of days of sea air and relaxing on the beach.
They have been a little disappointed by the recent rainy weather, but have no idea how happy we are to see it after the heatwave. While they aren’t thrilled about the grey skies, they would have grumbled far more about being stuck in the 35+ degree heat. If this is what happens when they come here, we will have to plan visits for them every year!
