Rain, glorious rain

Please forgive the bastardisation of Lionel Bart. Summer is finally over and as the cold fronts come in we have finally been getting some much-needed rain. It is interesting that the plants that appeared to die during the hot months are now lush.
One downside however is having to cycle through the rain to get to work. I’ve done it before when we lived in Leicester, but would rather not have to. Still, I’m saving on car parking charges and getting some exercise to boot.
The weather is very welcome and reminds me of home. The same people here who bemoaned the heatwave are now complaining that it is too cold. I keep reminding them that until they have to chip their car out of the ice in the morning they don’t know what cold is.
