This, of course, means that we are back in Adelaide having traversed the Australian border with no difficulty despite my visa being a rather tatty printout rather than an official looking stamp.
We are both significantly jetlagged, but we have a few days to get over it before returning to work. For some reason flying East always affects me more than the converse. Perhaps it is because the day is effectively trunctated as time comes to meet you – it sounds complicated but makes sense if you think about it. Hopefully in a couple of days we will re-enter the human race.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who looked after us, housed us, fed us, generally put up with us disrupting their lives, or simply made time in their busy lives to catch up with us. It was great getting round the UK and seeing you all. As a quick run down of statistics we:
- saw 7 relatives (almost all of them in fact!) …
- … and met up with 24 friends (unfortunately missing another 8) …
- … in 6 different towns/cities.
And all of this in less than 4 weeks. So maybe we can be forgiven for feeling somewhat drained now. On the plus side we have been reunited with our moggies who don’t seem to have suffered too much during our separation. The time off before our annual leave will come in useful for bonding and providing reassurance.
In due course I’ll put up all the photos we took so you can see what we did!

It was great to see you and catch up. Glad you’re both home safely and reunited with the moggies!
