Making steady progress … or at least trying to

More tumbleweed I’m afraid. But on the plus side I am working methodically through my revision material for the upcoming JFICM exam.
In a strange twist of roster I am in the middle of a 5 day off stretch, including last weekend. Sounds great doesn’t it, having all that time free – and none of it as annual leave. In the normal scheme I would have made the most of that time off and even factored in some diving. However all fun and games have been put on hold until after October and that pass is in the bag. It is by no means a foregone conclusion, which is even more reason for me to put my head down and get that time in with the books.
I’m trying to be sensible about this revision though, and adopt the proverbial tortoise approach. There is little point trying to force feed too much knowledge into your brain in one go. Better to do little and often so there is time for the information to sink in. I seem to be making reasonable progress, but obviously there is a long way to go. The sheer breadth of knowledge required is somewhat overwhelming, but there is still time to cover most of the material. Of course there will always be gaps in knowledge, but the key is make sure they are few, small and in areas less likely to be included.
So more revision on the schedule tomorrow … this is going to become a habit.
