New Kicks

A somewhat esoteric reference this time.
As a light break (forgive the irony) from my book work I took part in a Paediatric Life Support refresher course. It’s been over 4 years since I did the full course and haven’t handled a paediatric patient since I last did anaesthetics almost 3 years ago. Too quickly the mind forgets things, so it was high time to revive those dozy neurons and get back up to speed again.
This also fulfils an objective on the JFICM exam syllabus as the board are within their rights to ask us to demonstrate safe and effective CPR on a child dummy. So hopefully I stand a better chance of not being so intimidated if it comes up in the exam.
Of course this still doesn’t immunise from that inevitable brown trouser moment if I ever have to do it for real!
