And we didn’t even have to go to Orlando.
Over the past few days I have been feeling quite at home here with the change in season. In scenes more characteristic of Tornado Alley, Adelaide has been pounded by heavy rain and winds gusting up to 90kph. The city was rather caught off-guard and the State Emergency Service were inundated with calls about downed trees, damaged roofs and flooded carparks.
It has affected our ability to provide a comprehensive retrieval service as the winds have been too strong for safe flying in the helicopter. Taking off from Goowla last Friday was decidedly hairy, so we were grounded over the weekend, and had to do patient transfers by road instead. The weather has also made cycling somewhat hazardous so I’m back to driving again.
