… well, 5 actually, if you include the cats. A literary reference this time.
After the chaos of flight disruptions, my parents made their return flight and should be back in the UK any time now. Iceland clearly wasn’t content with just contributing to the financial ruin of Europe, as that pyroclastic dust cloud certainly caused a major transport headache.
Without them, the house suddenly feels rather empty, and even the cats have noticed their absence. While we obviously enjoyed spending time with them and sharing our house with them, everyone needs their own space, so there are benefits to having everything “back to normal”. I’m sure they will also relish in getting back to their own routine, even if some catching up will be necessary.
And in a few months time, we’ll be going through the same again, only with role reversal. Unfortunately my employers are dragging their feet somewhat over the paperwork, so my leave still isn’t confirmed just yet.
